Vivats to the Canton and their participants for putting everyone in the
Holiday spirit, and a special Vivat to Cairistiona for organizing it! We
thought of you when we were sitting in Curia.... ;-)

>Greetings to the Room,
>
>You missed a great time if you did not make it to the Christmas Parade to
>march with the Canton of Sudentorre. We had 24 in attendance for the
>parade. Our vehicle (small pick-up truck) was decorated to look like a
>large wooden cart. We hung baskets filled with geese, swans, turtle doves,
>French hens and one partridge in its own Pear Tree. Our Theme was the 12
>Days of Christmas. We were a little short on the maids a milking, drummers
>drumming, lords a leaping, and ladies dancing, but we more than made up for
>it with enthusiasm. We had milk pails, cows, a bull who wanted to be with
>the "girls", pipers piping (okay, recorders), ladies dancing in the
>streets, a little drumming by a couple of drums, and once in a while, our
>lords leaped (they jumped up once...grin) At several locations in the
>parade, the crowd starting singing the 12 days of Christmas! What a treat.
>
>We had two heavy fighters there to "guard" the five gold ring. They became
>a favorite of the children and spent a lot of time shaking hands, letting
>the kits touch their helmets and shouting joyful greetings to the crowd.
>
>It seems the Canton now owns a nice collection of "birds" and during our
>Pot Luck Dinner, much discussion took place on what to do with them. A
>final decision has not been made to there outcome......grin.
>
>All in all, everyone had a wonderful time, the crowds were excited and I
>have already heard plans in the works for next year's years parade!!
>
>It has been a good evening. Good night and sleep well.
