Hello, everyone.

I hate to be the bearer of possible bad news, but this is serious. I
don't want to cause a panic, either. I think, though, that people
should know about this.

My lady, Siubhan, has investigated what's wrong with my computer, the
one we've used at home for e-mail and Internet connections, with the
help of some tech support. It seems that computer has a rather nasty
virus eating its hard drive. It apparently came in either on an e-mail
message or on something someone downloaded, such as a poorly designed
video game, on or before March 11.

I don't think I've transmitted anything SCA-related from home in the
time period in question, so this may well not affect any of you. You
all might want to scan your systems, though, if you can, thoroughly for
viruses, just in case. I'm transmitting this message from my computer
at work, which has not been affected.

Until further notice, my household's home e-mail connection is dead,
and the computer in question is turned off until it can be repaired
under warranty next month. Until then, I will be available through this
e-mail address only when I'm at work, Monday through Friday. If anyone
really needs or wants to contact us quickly, phone calls would be a
better idea. At home, the number is (540) 678-3643. Leave a message if
we're not in, and we'll get back to you.

I'll keep you posted.

YIS,
Darri Kveldulfsson
