[Moo] Japanese scrolls in the Sackler!

I know a lot of people ask about Japanese scrolls, calligraphy, and 
illumination, and so I would like to refer everyone to the Sackler 
Gallery's current exhibit on Calligraphy.  IIRC it is called 'Faith and 
Form' and it has many examples of period Japanese calligraphy, and some 
neat concepts (like putting each character in its own little 'pagoda') 
that I'd not seen before.  I believe that they are all religious scrolls, 
many of them being copies of sutras.  They are all in Japanese, but it may 
give a feel for several types of scrolls.

Realize that many of the scrolls there are like paintings or books, rather 
than proclamations, grants, etc.

The Sackler Gallery is part of the Smithsonian Institute.  Admission is 
free.  It is located in Washington, D.C., near the Castle.
