For what it's worth, I passionately HATe the "reply to sender only" option, don't understand why we've switched to it, and encourage the mod to switch us back.

I am on several lists on that basis and even now, after month and months of it, there is still information being lost all the time when people forget.

Response to a list should go to the list, IMHO

     I hate to revisit an issue that was discussed a while back but I just notice a problem.  Recently our list moderater changed the reply function on this list so that you reply to the individual who sent the origional post rather that the whole list.  I responded that I disagreed with this format because the "reply to" fuctionality of an mailing list is the whole point of having the list set up in the first place.
     Last Friday I made an error when suggesting a restaraunt.  I said that it was on Westfields when I actually meant Wellington rd.  It was late Friday and I made an error.  On Monday someone responded about it being too far away and I realised the error.  I replied to that persons message to correct my error and thought it was going to the entire list.  Today I recieved a number of e-mails from people who were discussing the same topic. Some of them e-mailed the list and others sent them directly to me. By the wording of they letters sent directly to me they obviously thought they were addressing the whole Barony.  
     I agree that on rare occasion someone may reply to a list message and sends something personal to the whole Barony they intended for only one person.  Please also consider that if you accidentally reply to an individual not the whole group then some folks could miss important information.
     If we choose to keep the format this way, everyone should avoid making my mistake.  If you intend to reply to the whole group hit "Reply All" not just reply.
