Unto our neighbors in the glorious kingdom of Atlantia does Adriana
Michaels, Armored Champion of the Barony of Dun Carraig send her warmest
greetings.

I would like to invite you all to Challenge of the Heart, to be held April
22nd in Huntingtown, Maryland. Grand Tourney to be held in the style and
fashion of Northern Europe in the late 14th Century. Come and join us in a
celebration of great feats of arms, of colorful heraldry, of delights of the
senses and of the palate. We promise an exhibition of feats of arms for
which the Kingdom of Atlantia is so well known.

For both Armoured and Rapier the day shall include tourneys of three-person
teams (no more than one Knight or White Scarf per team, please). Also, each
Barony in Atlantia is challenged to produce a baronial team with its heavy
and/or rapier champion to vie for the prize.

The day will also feature several arts and sciences displays and
competitions, showcasing the talents of all who wish to participate:

Favor Competition:
Enter a favor in a period design, something that would be given to someone
special. It could be a sleeve, a ring or any one of a number of things. They
can be in any medium. All entries must be accompanied by documentation.
Documentation can be as simple as a reference from a period source.

Poetry:
Using a documented period style and form, compose a poem praising the
attributes of a friend or special person. The poem should not be longer than
a few verses as it will, unless the poet declines the honor, be read for the
enjoyment and praise of those ladies who will occupy the Ladies' Gallery.
The poet can either deliver the work themselves or we will have someone read
it for them. Documentation of the form and style will be required.

"Then and Now:"
It is always interesting to observe the progress we make as we learn a craft
or skill. We ask that you bring your first or earliest available effort at a
particular art, craft or skill and your most recent effort. This is not a
competition, but a way for others to see your progress…and possibly gain
inspiration and encouragement as they develop new skills.

Novice Display:
This display is open to anyone who has been working with a particular art or
craft for a year or less. This includes anyone, whether you are new to the
SCA or someone who has been in for many years. This is an opportunity to get
assistance, constructive criticism or ideas about what you're doing.

In short, come play with us. It'll be fun.

For more information, such as cost, directions, and site rules, the site's

directly to this e-mail with any questions.

To the brave and noble fighters of Atlantia, I look forward to meeting you
upon the tourney field. To the artisans, I look forward to seeing the
fruits of your skills and your long hours of patient effort. And to all, I
greatly look forward to your attendance and the pleasure of your company at
this event.

Yours in Service to the Dream and to the fair Kingdom of Atlantia,
Adriana Michaels
