[Moo] Kingdom of Atlantia Arts and Science Festival is tomorrow

Greetings Atlantia!

Kingdom of Atlantia's Arts and Science Festival is tomorrow.  Come spend the day dancing, singing, storytelling, gazing at the various competitions and displays.  Bring your works and display for all to see.

The site opens at 10 am and closes at 6 pm.

Plan to have lunch onsite.  Cost for lunch is $5.  All profits from the lunch sale will go to the Oak.  Here is the menu for Lunch:
Spiced ham w/fruit or roasted chicken w/sauce  
bean tart
cucumber salad
stuffed mushroom caps
cheese knocci
bread and butter
fresh fruit and/or pie
boiled eggs (veggies)
Water/soft drinks

Kingdom's Sweet Shop will be setting up and selling wonderful goodies to delight any sweet tooth.  The Sweet Shop will be located in Merchants Row where we also have a good number of merchants available selling wonderful wares.

Site: Marshall Building Center, 8800 Courthouse Road,Spotsylvania, VA 22553. No pets allowed. 

Directions: Take your best route to I-95, to Virginia. Take exit 126 (south) or exit 126B (north) at Massaponax. Go north onto Route One. Go 2 miles and turn left onto Route 208 (Courthouse Road). Follow Route 208 all the way to Spotsylvania Courthouse. At the light turn left, go under a half mile and turn right into the Marshall Center. Follow parking direction signs.

Need lodging for the night:  Howard Johnson Hotel at 540-898-1800 and the reservation name is SCA. The hotel is located just off I-95 (exit 126) and within easy drive to the event. You have a choice of a room with two queen size beds or one king size bed with a pull out sofa bed. All rooms come with free internet hook-up, satellite TV, microwave, small refrigerators, and free continental breakfast.  You should be able to get the discount rate of $60.

The hotel has also providing the SCA a room for an after hours post-revel.  It starts at 8 pm.

The Sunday following KA&S, Sunday, March 5, the Canton of Sudentorre will have Archery and Thrown Weapon Practice and A&S Happenings (brewing, cooking, sewing, fletching, painted tapestries, and whatever else anyone wants to try, learn, or teach).  All are welcomed to come spend the afternoon from 2:30 til dark before making your drive home.  This will take place at the House of Wolfhou (the Miller's) on 106 The Vance Way in Stafford County. If anyone would like to donate any items to Defending the Gate's Silent Auction is welcomed to bring them to KA&S Event and drop them off.  All proceeds from this auction will go to the Kingdom's Travel Fund.
