[Moo] Demo Thank you

Greetings to the list,

 

Thank you very much for everyone who showed up yesterday to participate
in the little demo down in Massaponax.  Not only did we have
participants from the local area, but a big thanks to those from
Tir-y-Don and Caer Mear who drove up and helped as well.  Kyle, the
teacher in charge, was very impressed with the displays set-up, the
interaction with the kids and their families, as well as the fighting
demos.  He thanked us profusely for doing this on such short notice and
asked if we would be willing to do this again in the future.   Now that
we know exactly what is going on I think we can be better prepared.  

 

In a nutshell we were the atmosphere for the final project for three
classes.  Their final project...a medieval strategy game against their
peers...how well they did would reflect in their final project grade.
If you want more info just ask and I will tell you all the gory details.
I wish there were final projects like this when I was in school!

 

For those of you who were not in attendance we did displays of heraldry,
archery, armor, inkle loom weaving, lucet cord making, board games,
calligraphy and illumination, embroidery, leather goods, stained glass,
beads, music and of course both Heavy and Rapier fighting.    There were
pictures and information taken by a student photographer and after Kyle
has looked at the pictures he will be doing a write up for the
Fredericksburg paper.  Keep your eyes open!

 

Thanks again everyone for coming together at such short notice.  I had a
blast, I hope you did too and next year will be even better!
