Dear Baron Colum, Baroness Briana, and Stierbachian Nobles All,

I thank you for a splendid weekend at Sapphire Joust VIII!

I thoroughly enjoyed my interesting holiday and thoroughly respect you and
the members of your Barony for the hard work it took-- that you all made
look easy--to pull off this 30-plus people encampment amongst the 300-plus
campers.

I sampled some of the A&S classes; I taught 3 SCA folks how to do Viking
wire weaving when they asked what I was doing; I watched the heavys and the
fencers and the archers. I goggled at our classy queen and orating king who
so very much added an allure to the event; I served as a part-time retainer
for Princess Rowan; through great good luck, I "roomed and boarded" with
your Barony of Stierbach -- a most enjoyable "family" of SCA members who
were most kind and welcoming to this stranger they invited in; I attended
the delicious feast on the second seating and marveled that the cooks and
helpers made it all work out in 55 minutes; and I shopped the merchants both
Saturday and Sunday--bought LOTS of great items--the kind of authentic,
hand-crafted beautiful objects only found at SCA events, to wit:

* U-shaped, hand-crafted hairpin from The Crafty Celt,

* Ghawazee coat form the Sultry something to go with my Eastern garb,

* Mammoth ivory of Siberia from the blacksmith (to be carved into needles,
hairpin, and purse toggles), and, most useful,

* a pair of handmade white linen hose [that fits!].

Congratulations for creating a camp and leading a crew of kind-hearted,
hard-working, SCA over-achievers! My most especial thanks to Lady Grace who
"let me in" and helped me to fit in; and Lord Sean, who helped me set up my
tent as I could not have done without his help; young, hot, and tired but
game Lord Michael who helped me fold my tent for breakdown this morning,
Lady Esperanza, Mistress Ceridwen, the unmeloncholy Welsh lady; Lord
Richard, Tiny Daniel and tinier Madeline who brightened every eye by being
themselves; Lady Suenneva; Lord Eneque (my genteel and debonair escort, who
got the ball rolling to include me in your company); Lady Willow, Lord
Allen, Lord Bubba and Lord Ringer, Lord Ranaulf and his Lady; Lord Phillip
who fixed my Chinese umbrella—so needed to protect from that heat and sun,
his Lady, and Happy Baby, and all the rest whose names I mangled so
consistently—my most sincere thank you.

If the Lord wills, I will come back next year to Sapphire Joust and,
perhaps, there will be room for my tent in Stierbach?

Please feel free to call on me to assist your Barony and your selves if I
can provide assistance or succor at any future event. It would be my
pleasure.

Yours in Service,

Lady Ingeborg i Trondheim
