so working for a name around the tool is pretty much out, except maybe
for an attribute of such tools (sharpness?)

How about a characteristic of the activity?  or of the thrower?
(precision, sharp eye)

I'm kind of drawing a blank too.  I'm just hoping the above might give
someone a flash of inspiration.  :-)
