[Moo] Help with projects

Greetings unto the populace of the Barony of Stierbach, from your incoming Baron and Baroness Flaithri and Rhonwen.

 

Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to help make investiture a superb event.  Without gentles such as these Rhonwen would be a gibbering manic in a few short weeks.  However, please do not feel that everything is done.  Oh, no...there are several large projects still waiting.  As always, if you wish to help, but don't know what to do, contact us.  Together we can figure out a way for you to contribute.  

 

Below are a few projects that we do need help with.  Even if it is in a small way, every little bit helps.

 

First of all, we need help with the new Baronial Copes.  The goal is to complete them in time for Briana and Colum to have the opportunity to wear them before investiture.  These new ceremonial items are made of red and white silk noil and will have a black linen lining and border.  On the border will be the awards of the Barony as well as the arms of the past Barons and Baronesses.  As of right now these cloaks are only a quarter of the way completed.  If you are interested in making award medallions for the copes please let us know.  There is fabric and floss ready to mail out to anyone interested.   Rhonwen is carrying these copes with her everywhere right now and if you would like to take a turn stitching down the appliqué of the Baronial arms she would greatly welcome your help.  

 

Also, Rhonwen is designing heraldic garb for the family in the Baronial colors.  If you have experience in making heraldic outfits she would like to have some advice.  Her sewing abilities are limited, but as long as she has clear instructions she can usually figure it out.  If anyone would like to help with some of the smaller items like hoods, pouches, veils, coifs and etc that would be great.  These projects do not need to be completed right now, but we would like to have Heraldic outfits ready for Pennsic.

 

Lastly, if you are interested in some long term projects that wouldn't need to be completed until Baronial Birthday, or even Pennsic, there are some of those available.  For instance, we both think the champions' regalia needs to be overhauled and we are interested in sprucing up the Baronial Presence.  If you have any ideas along these lines feel free to contact either of us so we can get some of these projects started.  

 

We look forward to hearing from you and seeing everyone at investiture.  The two of us are still in need of volunteers to retain that day.  This is one of those events where it will be impossible to get away without having at least one person with either of us at all times.   If you are willing to volunteer an hour or so of your time please let Rhonwen know and she will get you on the schedule.
