I have had several people ask me about C&T in the past. Here is a good
opportunity to see what it is all about and possibly even try it if the
stars align correctly.

Friends,

Graciously the Autocrat and the RMIC for Coronation have agreed to lets
us do Cut and Thrust pick ups at coronation. 

While the tourney is a melee tourney, we can still C&T either after or
depending on room nearby.

Remember SCA minimum armor standards for C&T are in effect. So you must
have standard rapier armor with the back of your head protected, your
elbows protected and should you be fighting without a basket hilt hard
hands. 

I will be bringing much of my loaner stuff. 

Now, it has been brought to my attention that some folks are concerned
about the level of force in the strikes.

Friends, we are Atlantians. We play by the rules. We insure the safety
of our friends who are playing with us. So expect a level of hit
consistent with a good blow and if it comes hard it is an accident. 

For example I wear a 15th century Jack Coat of Plates, hard shoulders,
elbows and knees. Not necessary but it looks good. I enjoy the feeling
of fighting with steel in armor. I am not armoring up to take a heavier
blow. I am wearing the armor because it is the creative in the
anachronism.

So come and give it a try its fun. I will try to put together a couple
of leather skull caps by then. However a leather skull cap made to fit
over your mask and some close cell foam meets the SCA minimum. I am
looking at the coif pattern, however Arts and Sciences are not my strong
point. If any of you leather woring folks have an idea please let me
know.
