I believe fall fashion is all about color, silhouette and cozy. Cozy
doesn't mean frumpy in my book. It means warm, but not too warm, with a
touchable hand. There are wonderful multi-purpose sweaters available
with the extra-long front pieces to flip over your shoulders. Made out
of a thin knit, it can look really sleek. It?s still got the cozy aspect
as well. It?s also about balancing the silhouette. These days, fashion
is pretty forgiving when it comes to hiding flaws and accentuating the
positive. You can choose which end you like better for the slim
silhouette, and then balance that with volume. For instance, wear skinny
jeans and a "boy friend" jacket, or a great blouse tucked into wide leg
pants. Color can also balance things out. Dark solid pants or skirt with
a colorful sweater set or top will draw attention up to your face and
diminish the hips. If you love your legs, wear a simple skirt and
colorful tights. My color preference these days is plum for tights. I
even have some new plum shoes for fall to go with the tights! Now, all I
have to do is make the skirts.
