News and notes for the demo:

The current forecast is for 48 degrees and sunny all day.

The school has given permission for Archery, but is only allowing combat ammunition.  Combat Archery has been allowed.  The current plan is to set up on the football field, and keep the audience in the stands or behind an end zone.  The final determination will be made that morning.

We have had volunteers for Historic Martial Arts, Heralding, Combat (Armored and Rapier), Target Archery, Music, Games, and more.

Please come out and help!  The more the merrier!

Subject: [Watchtower] Demo at Massaponax High School


On Saturday, December 11, Sudentorre will once again be running a demo at Massaponax High School in Spotsylvania County.  The demo is in conjunction with several Advanced English Classes'  Medieval unit of study.  They end the unit with a large table top war game (think WarHammer).
 
The demo will start at 10:00, and will run no later than 4:00.  Setup will begin at 9:00.
 
We can expect to have 200 or more students and parents attend.  In the past, they have been very interested and appreciative.  We will be fed (pizza, wings, hot dogs, etc...).
 
 
This is the 10th year that the event has been held, and we have the opportunity to bring as much as we want.  To that end, we are currently planning armored combat, rapier combat, games, music, and anything else we can dream up.  Given sufficient heralds, we will also provide some color to the competitor's entrance, and the finals.
 
Weather permitting, we will have some tents set up outside, and will have plenty of space inside as well.
 
We have been cleared to have an archery demo, but currently are restricted to "combat archery" ammunition.  I will be presenting a safety and security plan to the principal, so the archery may include field points, combat archery, and possibly siege weapons.
 
 
Please let me know if you can make it, and how you plan on participating.  Mistress Blitha and I will be working together on the planning.
