The Clothing of the Renaissance World (Vecellio's "Habiti Antichi et Moderni," 
c. 1590 & 1598) is a nifty source :-)  It's got a lot of his interpretations of 
"ancient and modern" clothing, including how he thought people in other parts of 
the world dress.

You can get it on Amazon for about thirty dollars less than the sale price at 
the Met Store, though ...

There's a 19th century French edition on Google Books, but the illustrations 
have all been redone -- but it still shows the range of funky illustrations 
Vecellio included. :-)
