We had eight heavy fighters in armor, three rapier gentlemen, two WMA
practitioner's, and one armorer busily fixing gauntlets and otherwise
practicing his craft at last night's practice. It was a busy and fun
practice with lots of folks there, I counted at least fifteen people
there at one time or another. His excellency did double duty as a
heavy fighter and a rapier wielding vortex of death. Michael Wymarc
pulled double duty with rapier and WMA. As if he needs to be any more
deadly.

Virtually everyone who was at practice indicated that they plan on
attending the Baronial day activities this Saturday.

Lessons Learned:

1) Delusions of proficiency as a fighter can lead one to consider
abandoning armor on the forearm and thigh.
1a) Fighting Ragnar Ribcracker will quickly dispel aforementioned
delusions and make one consider adding ADDITIONAL forearm and thigh
armor.

Lesson learned in the form of a question:

2) Adding seven pounds of mail, a five pound coat of riveted plates,
and one pound of padding (for a total of thirteen pounds of shoulder
hanging dead weight) that hang off of the shoulders can:
  A. Make one tire more quickly
  B. Make one look more spiffy
  C. Cause additional aches and pains
  D. All of the above

3) Fighter practice is not only more fun with more people it is more productive.

I hope to see each of you this Saturday at the White Bull tournament
portion of the Baronial day activities and next Tuesday for another
addition of <insert big dramatic voice here> "Tuesday Night Fighter
Practice" </end big dramatic voice>
