[Moo] Regarding the New Pennsic University Rule

Thanks Briana. Tuppence can pass for 18 so I don't think they will question her. Getting her off the fencing list will be impossible though!
I am sure between the adults we can get "responsible" coverage. On the other hand I don't think I am very responsible anymore. My girls take care of me. I will be parking myself in the shade with a project around the A & S area so Cambria and Cady (also in our camp) can take classes and point at me when asked. I will take "charge" of any other responsible teen just so long as parents know I will send them home when they get annoying. I do that with my own! And I take payment in apple dumplings and ice cream.
Blessings,
Jane

East Kingdom list now has a letter forwarded from Mistress Chai stating that the rule has been tweaked to allow "a "guardian"--*which is defined for our purposes as a responsible adult designated by the the parent* *to attend the class* with the youth."
So, my offer stands - I'll be happy have Megan accompany me to class - particularly if it's wireweaving, lucet or any of a number of other classes where her skills far outshine my pitiful attempts. Same goes for Tuppence and Cambria.

Not good news. This could be a show stopper.

As a parent of a 15 year old, as a Laurel, and as a member of the SCA for 25 years, I have extreme problems with this change.
I am holding further comment for now.
