That said, please feel free to email me any concerns you have. Remember that the event is over a year away. The time frame gives us the chance to work through a lot of potential issues.

If you see something causes you to wonder, ask! I know that no one is expecting "perfect", but we will get as close to that as we can.

Siegfried

I would also like to let everyone know that this site is accustomed to, and holds regularly, large scale events. This is the site for the Orange County Fair (up to 5000 people a day visit the fair during the summer), the fiber festival every October, the Montpelier Wine Festival every May, it has had sheep dog trials and kennel club’s on the site, as well as several other festivals over the years.

While it is not a “perfect” in every way site, the few problems that are apparent are easily overcome…and we will still be under the budget for the previous site.

Here are some websites if you want to see what other people have done with the same site:

Greetings to the Barony and her Cantons!

I wanted to send out a local message to you regarding recent activities concerning Stierbach's event for 2011.

In case you haven't heard, Stierbach won the bid to host Atlantia's 30th birthday celebration. The date is set for Labor Day, September 2-5 2011. Our initial site was to be the Virginia State Fairgrounds, just north of King's Dominion. For various reasons, this site appears to no longer be viable. This past Friday, I had a site walk-through at "James Madison's Montpelier" with my wife and Their Excellencies. The visit went well, and this seems to be a wonderful alternate location. I am expecting a contract to be sent to me before the next Barony meeting.

The point of this message is to lay out the potential changes to the event, and give you an opportunity to comment. Any constructive comments are welcome on the lists. Any destructive or inappropriate comments can be sent to me directly, I'm willing to entertain any suggestions.

Cons -

Primitive Site

No hall

Limited water

Limited electricity

Port-a-Potty rental required

Large tent rental required

Pros -

Discretely Wet

Equestrian allowed

Pets allowed

Pretty

Inexpensive ($1,500 for the weekend)

No required vendors or buyouts

As far as I'm concerned, the pros well out number the cons. Even after adding in the required rentals, the overall cost for the site should be less than before.

Please note that the site change has not been formally approved by anyone, as of yet. Your comments may have a significant impact on that approval process.

In service,

Siegfried McClure

Autocrat for Atlantia's 30th Anniversary Celebration
