Greetings all,
Defending the Gate is a good chance to introduce your friends to the SCA.
When they enter the site, they will sign in and pay the site fees at the "Toll
Gate", and then park their cars. They can get directions to the Chatelaine Tent
from the good folks at the Toll Gate. At the Chatelaine Tent, I will look
forward to meeting them, getting them attired in Medieval style clothing, and
answering any questions they may have. At 11:30, I will lead a tour for all the
new folks (and other interested people) in a tour of the site, and introduce
them to what we are doing, and if I can, introduce them to other folks who are
doing things they are interested in. The tour winds up with lunch. There will be
Rapier and Heavy Combat to watch. The folks doing Archery and Atlatl often have
some loaner equipment so they can try out those activities. There will be Arts
and Sciences items to view, and artisans to talk to. There will be Children's
Activites in the afternoon. And it should be a wonderful day!
Thanks!
