[Moo] Defending the Gate

Baron Mors and I had an absolutely wonderful time at The Defending the Gate event this last weekend! The weather was beautiful, the fighting was fierce, the artisans displayed their many impressive talents, archers shot true as well as those who took part in Atl Atl. The feast was delicious and lunch was savory and filling. 

We would like to thank those who took time to help during setup, tear down and or at the event itself. It takes an unbelievable amount of help to make an event a success and The Canton of Sudentorre rose to the challenge. 

We were very pleased at the number of newcomers at the event. Newcomers are the future of the SCA and welcoming them insures a strong and growing organization. It's important to remember that newcomers are just that, new, and don't know our rules, culture or our ways. Remember when talking to a newcomer it's important to be helpful and welcoming. Everyone is a Chatelaine! You maybe the first person a newcomer talks to. 

Baron Mors and I would like to congratulate those that received awards at the event. There were many Stierbachers that received awards and we were very proud indeed! The populace of Stierbach never ceases to amaze us! 

Congratulations on another great event!!! We are already looking forward to next year's Defending the Gate.
