Six Days Until Land Grab! Definitely time to think about things like Road Construction for those traveling to Pennsic.

Sections of the PA Turnpike are under construction between Breezewood and Cranberry, as are other sections west of there for those who want to swing through New Castle first. Some lane restrictions/closures will only be at certain times of the day, others may be in effect round the clock even if actual work only happens some of the time. Here is the link to the entire list for July:

Most of the items of interest to us (Atlantians going to Pennsic) are near the top of that web page, but those going to New Castle first also want to see the VERY LAST item at the bottom -- route 376 has stretches where there's only one lane in each direction.

Of even greater importance, though, is that the I-79 interchange with Route 422 is under construction:

Traffic drops to one lane in each direction to use the only remaining overpass while the northbound overpass is being replaced. Southbound backups are pretty horrendous during the day; northbound is going to be ugly in high traffic times. I suggest getting off 79 at exit 96 (Portersville), going west on 488 to route 19 in Portersville, then north on 19 to 422 (it's a LEFT turn to get on the ramp to 422 east), and east on 422 to Currie Road.

But you CAN still get off at exit 99 onto 422; just stay on the right lane and it'll dump you off onto the exit ramp.

Note that the ramp from 422 to northbound I-79 is CLOSED. A detour is posted.

Safe travels, everyone.
