*Ruby Joust May 23-26!* by Baroness Esperanza

*Barony has a camping group set up for Ruby Joust: Contact Lord Allen with
tent size ASAP!   In the past, camping at Ruby Joust was similar in set up
to Pennsic, but this year space is secured through your barony’s land agent.

*Barony will have a day shade on the field both Saturday and Sunday (even
though Baron and Baroness will not be camping, they will be attending!)

*Lady Arnbjorg will be overseeing the potluck hospitality table in the day
shade, email her or contact through Facebook with what you plan to bring

*Also there is a fundraising Lunch – which requires pre-registration

*Master Ii will renew his warrant, but at the same time, he is looking for
those interested in becoming seneschal

*Baroness Briana’s warrant expires in June but she will extend in order to
transition the position to Grimm with a review of the books and inventory
of the locker

*Will need help inventorying the locker, including Cook’s Guild items, and
the venerable and useful “red chair” – perhaps early on a Sunday morning



*Herald*

*Lady Sara was acknowledged by Kingdom as the Barony’s Herald



*Chatelaine*

*Lady Gunnora will renew warrant unless someone wants the job

*Has been in contact with several newcomers this past month

*Now is the time to host beginner classes, share your interests & skills!



*Knight Marshal*

*Lord Alexandre’s Target Archery marshal renewal obtained

*Abhainn Iarthair practices, question about Knight Marshal for canton, it
is part of the Barony so we can make that happen, all you need for an
official practice is a marshal in that discipline



*Upcoming*

*Holiday Faire 2014* – no new report, all pegs in place, waiting…

*Holiday Faire 2015* – TBD



*Baronial Birthday 2014* – September 20

*Location Southern Heritage Farm (same as Royal Archer last month)

*Baron Mors will autocrat – if someone would like to co-autocrat, as a
fellow learner or as an experienced assistant, please let him know

*Equestrian event – have use of horse show rings!

*Try to keep event low key, will be potluck with no feast (primitive site,
no electricity), Barony will provide hot dogs & hamburgers to grill

*Site has water but it is technically for horses rather than human
consumption

*Baroness Esperanza submitted budget for site fee ($300), site tokens,
food/charcoal/ice/water, 2 port-a-potties (one handicap accessible), acceps
fee, etc

*Budget approved up to $1200, Baroness will check if down-payment is needed



*Baronial Birthday 2015* – Sigurd Ericsson to autocrat



*Unevent 2014* – still no location, need 10 rooms plus auditorium, want to
keep under $1000



*Tent Repair update*

*At least $65 to ship, plus same to return

*Cost to be determined when assessed (probably $50-$200)

*Cheaper than a new tent!

*$400 repair budget approved

*Contact Baroness Rhonwen!  Heavy & Rapier fighters needed!

*SCA Fighting weapons are approved to be on school grounds

*A show & tell event from 3:15-4:15, arrive at 2:30 to set up, need a car
count



*Pennsic 2014*

*Will Barony sponsor an event at the Children’s Fete? Requires cost &
people – although Barony has tubs of supplies & such, so maybe no cost

*John the Brewer has put a posting as Land Agent, let him know once you’ve
registered; also contact him for approval if not a member of the barony

*Baron & Baroness working on expenses – pallets for shower, kitchen tent,
water heater, need to research more

*Offered a 12x12’ day shade for $250 donation, does barony want? Yes! Space
in locker? Probably.  Approved!



*Tarara Winery Event *

*Wednesday, December 17, 2014, from 5-10pm near Leesburg,
http://www.tarara.com

*Barony to provide “ambiance” and banners, demos, dancing, etc., Tarara
will make a donation to barony

*Penelope of Sudentorre will run a dance class

*Musicians? Bards? Theme-based: generic Medieval European finery, like 12th
Night

*Wine will probably be on a cash bar basis, drink responsibly!

Fight practices including out of armor, partial armor, drills, techniques;
Have a shop for repairing armor; Calligraphy

Teaching? Talking? Small potluck?: At a home or possibly Joann Fabrics or
Michaels

Ideas: Master Ii – Japanese Clothing, Sir Richard – documentation, has a
handout

Work with Cantons to not conflict, probably a Saturday

Also a mini-collegium during weekends of Pennsic?
