[Moo] Stierbach Baronial Meeting Minutes (10/7)

For those who couldn't make it, the minutes are below.  If there are any
mistakes, please feel free to let me know and we'll make sure the record is
updated.  Thank you to Lee for putting this together.

Baroness - Baroness Esperanza
* Thank you for all the help at Baronial Birthday

Exchequer – Lord Grimm

* Back in 2010 – “Future Purchases” account established, currently contains
$188.84, last used in 2011 for roses, possibly for Atlantia 30th, financial
committee passed motion to move money to general fund

* Lord Grimm to provide a full financial report next month

Arts & Sciences – Lady Failenn aka "Tigearna"

* Baronial Birthday 2014 Dirty Dozen Largess very popular, will probably do
it again next year

* Saturday, October 18th (same weekend as War of the Wings) will be the
next A&S Saturday – sewing day at the home of Aine & Sigurd. Sigurd will be
working on armor the same day so if you need minor repairs, bring them!

* No A&S Saturdays in November or December

Baronial Birthday 2014 Report

* Master Ii will send a court report (still working on it - Ii)

* 100+ people in attendance, pleasant surprise

* Confusion over “official-ness” of event, everything was official by the
rules of the SCA, except the court report will not be in the Acorn because
the event was not spiked on the Kingdom calendar

* Baronial Birthday 2015 is already spiked and Lord Sigurd will start
looking for volunteers after Holiday Faire

Upcoming

Holiday Faire – November 22

* Merchants in addition to Thrown Weapons, Archery, Heavy, Rapier (with
costumed villans)

* Abe planning A&S

* Main hall only has 2 spaces left, small hall still available

* Abhainn Iarthair providing fund raising “Plowman's Lunch” for $5

* Sudentorre to provide fund raising drinks for sale

* Need help on Friday for set up around 3pm – measure space for merchants,
set up list fields, etc

* Master Richard will need help with setting up silent auction on Saturday
morning, proceeds to benefit Kingdom travel fund

* Raffle (checking with Kingdom on terminology) to repay Pennsic camp fund
– Merchant gift certificates in the form of 2 $10, 1 $20

*Unevent* – December 6

* Highland Foorde, Frederick Maryland

* Big business meeting for the Kingdom

* Generally the sessions are open but check first

Massaponax Demo – usually weekend after Unevent

* Annual high school demo

* More info to come

Tarara Winery Event

* Gunnora has heard nothing back, probably canceled

Defending the Gate 2015

* Won't be last weekend in March as something else is already spiked

Next Baronial Business Meeting

* Vote to keep Tuesdays at new location (Bethel Lutheran Church in Manassas)

* Possibly larger room available

* Donation approved of $25 per meeting

* Reassess before committing in January, possibly use room additional times
or for additional hours

Equestrian Insurance

* Need to renew, $50

* Practice will continue at Aldie location, going very well

* Financial committee approved

War of the Wings – October 15-19

* Stierbach is sided with Sacred Stone

* Barony has a dayshade space reserved, even though Baron & Baroness cannot
attendance

Chalice of the Sun God – October 25

* Stierbach needs teams – We have won the Chalice for the last 6 years!

* Teams need people in 4 of the 5 categories, plus youth

Cooks Guild – Heloise

* Starting in January, will meet on 3rd Sunday every other month

* Time to be announced

Atlantian 12th Night – January 10

* Held in Sacred Stone

* Theme Venetian Carnivale (same as WoW's masked ball)

Baronial 12th Night? – January

* Not the same night as Atlantia's

* Possibly held at Grimmsfield or Bethel Lutheran Church

Practices & Baronial Announcements

* Archery at Bull Run Shooting Center begins November 6th, when you pay
tell them you are part of a club (or with the SCA League) for a discount,
Monday Archery at Grimmsfield will become A&S

* Leatherworking on Thursdays at Colum's

* Viking Wireweaving class at WoW taught by Arnbjorg (her first!)

* Fighter training and A&S on Tuesdays at Aine & Sigurd's in Warrenton

* Welcome to the new folks from Mid Realm (Michigan)!
