Greetings!

I am sending on the information on a couple upcoming A&S competitions at events not far off as well as the info for the A&S Day in June!

Arts and Sciences at Highland River Melees - Insurrection! An Overview

We have a Throwback contest. We have a Display with a prize of all things
Highland Foorde. We have a Bardic contest. We have a Chainmail contest. We
have a Brewing contest. A Solar will be held as well to encourage A&S
geeking of all kinds.

THROWBACK! There is a competitions that celebrates a throwback to your
favorite fun A&S subject from the past. Populace judging with be the first
cut, with baronial selection being the final determinate. Bribes might be
useful. Keep it light and keep it funny ? it will be too hot for it to be
serious! Throw your mind back to when you started playing with A&S and go
for it! Documentation is stating the premise, about when it happened, and,
if not Atlantia, where. Make it East/Atlantia if it would have been
Atlantia but it was before the great divide. As an example the recent
similar but more elaborate competition was the Disney inspired one.

DISPLAY (with a prize!) There will also be a display of things Highland
Foorde - past, current, and future. A&S coordinator's choice gets a
surprise thank you.

BARDIC, BARDIC, BARDIC! There will be a Bardic competition with the theme
? Bardic Madness come to Atlantia. Detailed information can be found at
https://docs.google.com/…/1NLxHgppcTzW0g0Y-ZgD-6hs78Dg…/edit<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1NLxHgppcTzW0g0Y-ZgD-6hs78DgdPPiIIiH3wT3sNgw/edit>

BREWING!! HRM will be hosting a homebrewing competition for 2018. The two
main
categories will be Ale/Beer/Lager and Cordials. There will also be a
special entry category: Heather Ales. It wouldn?t be the Highlands withouta
heather ale, now would it?

Ribbons will be awarded to the best brews in each category with special
recognition for the best Heather Ale.

Judging will be based on Atlantian Arts and Science criteria for Brewing,
Vinting and Infusions which can be found here <

And Return to Crecy

Do you want to flex your creative muscles in support of the French or the English in the upcoming battle at Crecy? Lady Maeve has assembled a wonderful array of competitions sure to tempt the most jaded eye.

The theme is traveling to Crecy in all and any forms: food, clothing, gear, ways and means.

Competitors may customize these suggestions in their areas of interest (equestrian, battle, or support). We encourage you to think on how it was made, how it was used, and if it was created en route. Your topics may inspire others even if a physical item is not present. Don't forget about soft goods (textiles and the like), past times (games, jokes, songs, swindles, etc), food, or armorments for yourself, your forces, or your animals. All categories will have a youth division and space is available for display (non-competition or off-topic art or science). Limited tables will be available. Please bring table coverings and personal tables if you are able.

Declare your side and help win the battle at Crecy. Questions can be directed to Lady Maeve Dianatto (Janie Topp on FB or via email jwtopp at peoplepc.com).

More information about the event Return to Crecy, June 22-24, is found on our website www.returntocrecy.com<https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.returntocrecy.com%2F&h=ATPvFWCqd1q0_eS2OIacoDzSh1W_QCoR-4zSR3gycFjPOgQp2z_MLql1kMGIfhbngSZABCFKcKAgCF0z43JQFatotkntTu98bQwkQhHBWuN600uSGYcQBRF4IAvwOUTNB9LIYpvpotVBrVMovIs>
