<DIV>You may wish to check with local mundane merchants who specialize in metal
fabrication, as they often have the roller used to put a curve in sheet
metal. There may be a SCAdian in the area who owns one, but they actually
have a fairly limited utility in SCA armory and aren't common. A
professional fabricator will charge you, but probably not a lot. Explain
to him/her just what you're hoping to end up with, so they don't inadvertantly
roll it the wrong way ;-) The curve doesn't need to be very deep.</DIV>

should be rolled, just a couple millimeters-worth. This not only helps
the shield hold its curve (in the same way the wire in some hat-brims
works), but also blunts the knifelike raw edge of the blank. Again,
explain the project fully to the fabricator, so they know what the end-product
