<div>Wal-Mart is notorious for this kind of thing. They have no empathy or respect for anything, just money and how to put it in thier pockets. I just posted a rant about that in my Facebook the other day. The Civil War Preservation Trust is also doing the best they can to fight Wal-Mart at every angle. </div>

<p><font face="Arial" size="2"><span style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial">For those of you who don’t know, I live 3 miles from Wilderness Battlefield (what is left of it) and the corner of Rtes 3 and 20. Wal-mart wants to build a 140,000 square foot bldg there and be the anchor point for a shopping complex larger than Central Park eventually spreading over 1,000 acres.</span></font></p>

<p><font face="Arial" size="2"><span style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial">That is not the problem. In fact most people here would welcome having some stores in their area, in the already zoned commercial property that starts ½ a mile down the road from where they want to build right off of Rte 3. However, that land is not what Wal-mart wants. There are several petitions going right now, and so far Wal-mart has said there is no legal reason for them to move and construction will begin this fall.</span></font></p>

<p><font face="Arial" size="2"><span style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial">Yesterday in the house, representatives from Vermont and Texas spoke out about this and have been moving legislation thought their states to try and stop this building. Vermont and Texas lost significant numbers of men in the Wilderness campaign, and the proposed site of the store is on the land these men camped and died.</span></font></p>
