up front. It does have to do with an ongoing struggle in my neighborhood with
Wal-Mart. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

font-family:Arial'>For those of you who don’t know, I live 3 miles from
Wilderness Battlefield (what is left of it) and the corner of Rtes 3 and 20.
Wal-mart wants to build a 140,000 square foot bldg there and be the anchor
point for a shopping complex larger than <st1:place w:st="on">Central Park</st1:place>
eventually spreading over 1,000 acres.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=2 face=Arial><span style='font-size:10.0pt;
font-family:Arial'><o:p> </o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=2 face=Arial><span style='font-size:10.0pt;
font-family:Arial'>That is not the problem. In fact most people here would
welcome having some stores in their area, in the already zoned commercial property
that starts ½ a mile down the road from where they want to build right off of
Rte 3. However, that land is not what Wal-mart wants. There are several
petitions going right now, and so far Wal-mart has said there is no legal
reason for them to move and construction will begin this fall.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

font-family:Arial'><o:p> </o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=2 face=Arial><span style='font-size:10.0pt;
font-family:Arial'>Yesterday in the house, representatives from <st1:State
w:st="on">Vermont</st1:State> and <st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Texas</st1:place></st1:State>
spoke out about this and have been moving legislation thought their states to
try and stop this building. <st1:State w:st="on">Vermont</st1:State> and <st1:State
w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Texas</st1:place></st1:State> lost significant numbers
of men in the Wilderness campaign, and the proposed site of the store is on the
land these men camped and died.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
