items are forbidden at all <br>| Kingdom-level events. The one exception is that they are permitted within a pavilion<br>| with the owner's express permission. In this case, those who bring the cans or other <br>| items are responsible for their timely and discreet disposal. <br><br>This seems to be directed principally at food/beverage containers, and perhaps should explicitly say so instead of leaving the issue ambiguous.<br><br>|10.1.2 Smoking is forbidden in the central area of a Society event. The central area<br>| of an event is defined as any area where people must be present in order to participate<br>| in the event, such as the hall where a feast is taking place, or the lists and the area<br>| surrounding them during a tournament. The autocrat shall define the boundaries of the<br>| central area and the autocrat shall, if possible, provide some other area as convenient<br>| as may be found where smoking is permitted and made safe and
practicable. Smoking<br>| is permitted in the interior of pavilion/home only with the express permission of the<br>| owner of the pavilion/home. <br><br>No suggested changes, except to note that this is gradually becoming less of an issue over time.<br><br>|10.1.3 The use of flash bulbs is forbidden in the central area of a Society event, being<br>| defined as any area where people must be present in order to participate in the event,<br>| such as the hall where a feast or court is taking place. The autocrat shall be responsible<br>| for defining the boundaries of the central area and should be consulted before any<br>| photography using flash bulbs takes place. Photography with flash bulbs is permitted<br>| in the interior of a pavilion only with the owner's permission, but only if this use of a flash<br>| bulb will not disturb anyone in the main area of an event. It is hoped that anyone taking<br>| photographs at any time will first obtain
permission from those being photographed as<br>| a matter of courtesy.<br><br>No suggested changes.<br><br>|10.1.4 (et seq.) <br>IMHO the entirety of this verbiage could be replaced with: "A reasonable attempt shall be made at all times to present an authentic pre-17th century appearance. Overtly modern items shall be unobtrusive, or be covered or concealed when not in active use. Any item made of modern materials, which can pass at a distance of (let's say 10 feet for argument's sake) for a period item, shall be considered a reasonable attempt. Items that are medically necessary, such as eyeglasses/sunglasses or walking aids or supportive footgear, shall be encouraged to be unobtrusive but otherwise exempted from these provisions."<br><br><br><br></div></div>
