What she said. I'm half-German, mundanely. I've also got a German
persona. So, there we were, starting a group. Nearest prominent,
more-or-less, geographical feature is Bull Run. "Stier" in German is
"bull", and "bach" = brook, stream, or creek... or, in Virginian,
"Run".

The compounding is similar to that in my mother's maiden name,
Winkelbach - literally, "Cornerbrook". The family comes from the spot
in Germany where the Werra and Fulda rivers combine to form the Weser
-hence a family name from a literal geographic feature.

I didn't realize, until now, that there is a Stierbach in Germany.
Wow. Now I get to find out about the place...
