  Job Description: 
          The System Administrator position is filled by a Network Administrator/ System Administrator. The System Administrator supports a Civilian Agency Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) organization protecting the network security of tens of thousands of users. The work site is located in Leesburg, Virginia. Systems Administrator responsibilities include: 
  · Support the stable operation of CERT computing infrastructure in a team environment 
  · System backups (Veritas NetBackup 5.1), Perform/monitor daily backup of critical data 
  · Installing, configuring, patching, upgrading and maintaining Windows 2000/XP servers and workstations 
  · Create/maintain Ghost images 
  · Maintain Windows 2003 DNS server with Active Directory integrated 
  · Configure/administer network devices 
  · Support Lotus Notes email users/clients 
  · Ensure all systems are running antivirus clients with most recent AV signatures 
  · Correct/mitigate vulnerabilities as required 
  · Create, modify, and change MS domain user/computer accounts 
  · Repair/replace hardware and software as required 
  · Maintain and configure HP, RICOH and Xerox LJ printers 
  · Manage DELL/SAN storage 
  · Track software licensing 
  · Perform configuration/life cycle management 
  · Request/review quotes from vendors and coordinate purchase with authorized government personnel 
  · Provide technical review/support to internal project manager/technical leads 
  · Provide systems/network installation/administration support to project managers/tech leads 
  · Document system configurations and update existing system documentation 
  · Review and provide input to Government policy, procedures and publications 
  · Evaluate new software being considered for use in Linux environment 
  · Provide user training 
  Qualities/Additional info: A System Administrator should be a proven team player with excellent oral and written communications skills. A System Administrator should also be a self-starter, capable of working projects, independently if necessary. Frequent interaction with government client is required. Occasional local travel. Infrequent (<5%) long distance travel.
   
   
  Job Qualifications: 
          Required: 
  Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information systems, or related field ... OR ... equivalent professional experience. 
  Technical: Minimum 3 years experience administering Microsoft Windows Server 2000/2003. With 2+ years as a Network Administrator in LAN/WAN environment, knowledge with Cisco Switching / Routing / Security administration and maintenance. Server Configuration, Setups and Installations. 1-2 years experience with Veritas NetBackup 5.1 (Linux or Windows). Excellent analytical and communicative skills along with collaborative, teaming and interpersonal skills. You must be detail oriented and a self-starter with the ability to quickly adopt and learn new technologies. 
  Preferred: Experience with Windows 2000/2003 Active Directory, Lotus Notes, Symantec Ghost, VERITAS NetBackup 5.1 (Linux or Windows) and scripting. Experience with Dell servers / workstations and/or CISCO routers / switches. 
  Useful: Certification: MCSE, CCNA, CCSA 
  Experience working in a network security environment, such as a Security Operations Center (SOC), Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT), Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT), Computer Incident Response Center (CIRC) or Computer Security Incident Response Center (CSIRC). Firewall administration experience (Checkpoint NG, etc.) and CA products (Antivirus, ServiceDesk, Unicenter).
