The incipient canton of Abhainn Iarthair, which includes Winchester,
recently started holding a small, informal practice, weather
permitting, in Jim Barnett Park in Winchester on Fridays. The person to
talk to about all that would be Loric of Ironwood (Mike Howell) at
e-mail loric.of.ironwood at adelphia.net or phone 540-664-6630. Check with
him first to confirm the time. The practice takes place in the late
afternoon to early evening, followed by an armoring session at Loric's
home nearby if there's need or interest. I'm sure our fighters would
love to see you at either one, along with anyone else whose interest
you've piqued.

Since you now live in the canton's area, I'll also send you an
invitation to join our Yahoo Groups site. That will keep you up on
what's happening.

Hello,
Some of you may know me, I am the Dutch guy who lived for 3 years in
Ponte Alto and was more or less active as a heavy fighter there. Some
of you came also by for the archery practice that was at my house.

Recently our new house in Clear Brook (just north of Winchester) was
completed and we finally moved in.

So if I may,  I would like to dig my armour from somewhere out of this
pile of boxes, and then enhance the number of the Stierbach heavies
from now on.

Some of the young man that helped me move where quite interested in my
SCA gear, is there any place close to Winchester where they can watch a
practice going on?
