Greetings all,
This came in over the MR, and you probably saw it, but if not, I figured to
let you know... The site is a large area and there are horse riding trails
already throughout the Fluvanna Co park. It may be instrumental in the steps of
getting more people interested in the Equestrian side of the SCA. The event
is fun, a laid back camping event. Lady Caelain is preparing the feast, and
let me tell you that last year's was absolutely DELICIOUS, and you don't want
to miss anything even close to it!!!!!!! They are inviting all to bring a
really neat cool archery target to be set up, be shot at, and be judged.
Archers judge the most fun/challenging target. So, there will be great fun for
archers of all ages! Rapier and heavy fighter folks will have a lot of fun also...

Greetings everyone,
I just wanted to remind everyone that we are planning on having horses
at Journey to the Crusades Sept 19-21 in Palmyra, VA.
I am trying to line up rental horses, so if anyone wants to haul some
horses to it and rent them out for others to ride, please let me know.
I already have four people who have requested horses (that are already
authorized) and some others who want to authorize - possibly.
The site is:
Pleasant Grove Recreational Park
Rt 53
Palmyra, VA 22963
http://www.co.fluvanna.va.us/parksrec/PG_recreation.htm (there's a
link to the trail map on this site)
Official times are 4pm friday thru 4pm Sunday but horses can be on
site by noon and just have to be gone by dark on Sunday.
They are having a couple official activities on Sunday, like the
Atl-Atl Battle and something Rapier, and it would be fun to do a trail
ride on Sunday as well if people are interested in doing so.
On Saturday we plan to do IKEqC scores if participants are willing and
a Quest for Holy Relics that will involve the games as well as finding
objects around the site.
I can teach the liablility class in the middle of the day on Saturday
for those who want to authorize as riders or ground crew.
Please let me know if you think you might be bringing a horse, or if
you want to ride and don't have a horse. Send to:
BrandwynAlston at gmail.com
Thanks,
Brandy
(Deputy Early Marshal of the Horse, Atlantia)
