Serious heraldic envy going, here. Can't afford the time or passage to
attend this one -- current contract has me in Northshield (Falcon's
Keep) -- y'all play nice (and take good notes!)
Adieu, Amra / ttfn - Mike / Pax ... Kihe

Subject: [Moo] Institute of Heraldry

Good Gentles,

Charles Mugno, Director of the U.S. Institute of Heraldry, and
recognized by Lords Lyon and Garter as the Chief Herald of the United
States, has agreed to my bringing a group of 15 to 20 interested
individuals to the Institute on Fort Belvoir on 20 September. We would
be there from 0800 to 1100. He would give a presentation on the work of
the Institute for the Federal Government, and then allow us to access
the incomparable library at the Institute. In an earlier age when there
was more money available for such things, the Institute sent a couple of
heralds to Europe to purchase books on heraldry.. I found particularly
the German holdings impressive - better that I was able to access when I
was in Germany.

I will need an idea of who is interested in going. This is on a military
reservation and will require the display of picture ID from an American
governmental agency (drivers' lisance works). Please email me if you are
interested in going.
