[Moo] Asking the obvious

Hey, here's a stupid question from a non-combattant...if you are wearing  
steel armor and attempt to use a magnetic compass, I assume it will not  work?  
Or is that not enough interference to matter? Inquiring minds  need to know 
(for sure)
