Sad news... Lady Clarice of Caer Gelynniog (Charline Oliff) has gone to be
with Her Lord. She departed this morning about 3am, January 24, 2009. The Red
Cross was able to get her youngest son, William, back from the T. Rosevelt in
time for them to all be together. The rest of the family was also there
(Marvin, her husband, and John, Charles, and Jimmy, her other sons). So, that was
good. Lady Clarice had been fighting an abdominal cancer that spread into her
digestive track. Keep the family in your prayers, and thank you for all whom
have had them in your prayers in the past year. Tenatively, the veiwing will
be Tuesday evening, the 27th, and the funeral will be Wednesday the 28th.
Arrangements are being made at Sheridan Funeral Home (6093 Venable Rd, Kents
Store, VA 23084, in Fluvanna County). Cards can also be sent to their house at
141 Wilmington Rd, Palmyra VA 22963.

Lady Clarice has been active in the SCA since her sons (and my children)
were in Fluvanna High School, and she has been a founding and nurturing force in
the Canton of Caer Gelynniog since its inception. She has touched and
encouraged the lives of many young ones, who are now "the next generation" in their
20s and young 30s. Mundanely, she worked with the Head start and challenged
preschoolers of Fluvanna County, and there also she touched and improved many
lives. At Church, she has worked with the Sunday schools, and sang in the
Chior. She was able to go on at least one mission trip to help others outside of
her normal circle. Many will miss her....
