Subject: [horseandhound] upcoming equestrian stuff in central region

Greetings everyone,

We have a practice coming this Sunday!!!

The first practice of the year at Abhainn Iarthair / Stierbach at
Ailenor's house. (Second practice of the year in central region -
though the first one in Attilium ended up cancelled due to rain.)

Hopefully the weather will cooperate. Look here for a last minute
annoucement on Friday to find out if it has been
cancelled due to rain. Right now the weather.com site is
saying it will be mostly cloudy and 51 degrees for the high. So I am
planning on it going forth! If the forcast changes to rain, though...

Please contact Ailenor if you have any concerns or questions regarding
this practice. alienorb48912@ yahoo.com

There are no rental horses at this practice in Front Royal, Virginia,
but you may bring your own and it is easily accessable for trailers
(looped drive - no backing up!).

I plan on the usual games being there. Don't have the tilt rail done,
so that will be next time. I do want to know who is interested in the
jousting of those that attend, and if you have your armor or we need
to work on armor for you. I also want to know if anyone is interested
in the mounted combat.

I also have news from the Marshal meeting we held in Attilium last weekend.

We have two events in the central region coming up quickly. The first
is Attilium's event, Le Grande Tourni de Amitie April 17-19 down near
Fayetteville, NC. It is going to be great fun and I hope that you can
attend it. Please let Lord Alain de la Rochelle know before the event
if you plan to bring a horse or participate in the equestrian games in
any way. He is also the person you should contact to try to arrange to
share a horse for the weekend if you don't have prior arrangements
with a horse owner. Alain_de_la@ yahoo.com (I believe there will be
authorizations at this event)

On May 16 we have demos in all three regions!

Bright Hills is having a demo that weekend. Contact Lady Nem for info on it.

We have one in Black Diamond in the central region at the Virginia
Horse Center in Lexington, VA. Contact myself for info on this one.
BrandwynAlston@ gmail.com (There will be authorizations at this demo)

We also have one down in the southern region. Contact the Deputy Earl
Marshal of the Horse, Lady Ursala for info on this one.

We all really need you to come out and support the demo in your region
that day by bringing your horses, marshalling, MIT-ing or helping out
as ground crew. You can also provide non-equestrian support to the
demo as well.

We also have Stierbach's Baronial Birthday and War of the Wings in the
works for later in the year.

We have practices scheduled in Fayetteville, NC; Front Royal, Va and
Boonsboro, MD for this year and I am working on ones in Windsor, VA as
well. I would
like to see some in Caer Mear and Black Diamond as well - contact me
if you have a site and we will try to work out a weekend I can get up
there for a practice with all of you in those areas.

Keep hounding me! I am forgetful and have recently discovered online
gaming - so I need an occasional swift kick in the pants to keep my
mind on my duties as central regional deputy.

Thank you and sorry for the long post and for the multiple copies some
of you recieved.

The new season is afoot!!! (or is that "ahoof" ?)

Brandwyn
(Central Regional Marshal of the Horse, Atlantia)
P.S. In case you are wondering the regional breakdown: Northern is
Maryland, Central is Virginia and Eastern North Carolina [Windmaster' s
Hill and points east], and Southern is Western North Carolina [west of
Windmaster's Hill] and South Carolina.

Support your local demos! (and have fun too!)
