Greetings unto the Great and Noble Populace of Stierbach, from your
Baron and Baroness, Flaithri and Rhonwen.

With just under a month until War of the Wings we wanted to reach out to
you and make sure you knew the plans in motion and didn't have any
questions for us. There is a lot going on, and still a few things left
to do that we need help with. This letter is full of information for
everyone that will be attending the event.

Listed below are the contact people from Stierbach for various
activities that will be happening at WoW. Get in touch with them or us
if you have any questions on an activity.

Armored Warlord: Lord Stefan von Kiel (steve_knerr at hotmail.com)

Rapier Warlord: Lord Dante di Pietro (dante.di.pietro at gmail.com)

A&S: Lady Heloise Le Gardeur (ahamel77 at gmail.com)

Archery: Lord Enequy (enequy at comcast.net)

Equestrian: Master Rhys Terfan Greydragon (Peter.c.Barclay at us.army.mil)

We are in desperate need of retainers for this event, as well as
heralds. There will be a dedicated person to watch the boys so don't be
afraid we will leave them with you. With the busy schedule on Saturday
we think that we will need a minimum of 2 retainers with us in shifts
all day, a Herald for the procession, and a Herald for Evening Court
procession. This can be the same herald, but does not need to be. We
will be together most of the day Saturday and if you are interested in
retaining please contact us as there may be specific times that would
work best for you. In the morning we will need people who are capable
of helping us quick change between heavy and rapier armor, and then out
of rapier into regular garb for the rest of the day. Then right before
court we will get dressed again. That would make 4 armor/garb changes
in one day for those keeping count. Other than that it is regular
retainer duty all day. If you would like to stand in court and serve as
a retainer please let us know that too.

If you are camping, and need a place to rest your head, please feel free
to sign up to camp with our Barony. Remember you must pre-register to
camp with the Barony. If you do not pre-register you will be in singles
camping. Our land Agent is Lady Cairistiona (garadh at verizon.net). She
will be setting up the camp and sending reminders to people about tent
sizes and such. Also, there is a meal plan that Mistress Blitha is
putting together for those camping with us if you would like to get in
on that.

This event is more than just the multitude of martial activities and
A&S. Last year the volunteer point is what won the war, and it is just
as vital this year too. For every 2 hours a person gives of their time
they will receive a ticket to place in the collection jar for Stierbach.
The side with the most tickets wins! As of today there is still a need
for marshals of all flavors, water bearers, clean-up crew, and gate
staff to name a few.

Trick-or treating will once again take place this year. Stierbach will
be handing out treats under our pavilion on the field. If you would
like to help out, or donate store bought (sorry no homemade treats) to
our basket, that would be wonderful. The kids are going to have a great
time going from merchant to merchant and pavilion to pavilion. Please
note that kids will not be allowed to go into private camps for treats.

Heraldry is awesome and dear to our hearts. We hope that you will
process with us in the Heraldic procession Saturday morning. Wear your
colors, wear baronial colors, wear canton colors, fly all your banners,
and march proudly. We have favors commemorating this event that we
offering anyone who would like one just stop us before or at the event
to get yours if you haven't already.

Saturday night after Royal court we will be having a party in the
Baronial Encampment to celebrate the great time we had with our friends.
We have been told a bardic is being organized, which means the more the
merrier! If there is someone who would like to be the lead on this
please let us or Cairstiona know. She is collecting money through the
sale of the cook book to help with the cost of food and beverage for the
hospitality. Donations of finger foods and snack type items will also
be welcomed and appreciated. We will join in the festivities as soon as
Their Majesties Dinner for the Baronage is complete.

We are putting together small gift bags to give to our allies as a thank
you. If you have small trinkets, beads, buttons, candies, or anything
else that would fit into roughly a 6" square drawstring bag that you
would be willing to donate that would be wonderful. All donations for
the gift bags need to be to us before the next Baronial meeting on
October 6th. You can drop items to us at the Sudentorre Practice on
Monday nights, the Barony Practice on Tuesday nights, Metal Smith's,
mail them, or call to set-up a time to meet.

There will be further emails in the next few weeks with updates and
pleas for help we are sure. Please feel free to write or call us if you
have any questions about the event and we will do our best to answer or
find the answer for you. We are looking forward to standing with you at
WoW!

Yours,

Flaithri and Rhonwen
