Hi Folks!

This is a reminder about upcoming A&S classes.

This Saturday, February 25, the Elizabethan Jacket Class lecture is taking place at the Loudoun County Public Library in Sterling, VA.

March 10, Mesterinde Karen Larsdatter is giving a lecture on how to write documentation for A&S entries.

March 10 (yup, same day), there is a weaving lecture at Grace Church, in Annandale, VA.

March 24, the same Elizabethan Jacket Class lecture will be given at Grace Church in Annandale, VA.

Directions and times are listed below. Please RSVP for all classes as it will help us figure out how many handouts to make.

YIS,

Amie Sparrow

St.
 Anne’s Clothiers Guild – Lecture/discussion about 17th Century
Embroidered Jackets. On 25 February 2012 at 1:00-3:00 pm, Lady Amie
Sparrow will give a slide show depicting late Elizabethan / early Stuart
embroidered jackets. In 2010, Amie went to Great Britain with an
embroidery study group, which was allowed access to 12 extant jackets
from museums including the Museum of London, Victoria & Albert
Museum, the Costume Museum of Bath, the Maidstone Museum, the Museum of
Nottingham, and the Gallery of Costume at Platt Hall. Photos of the
jackets will highlight details of construction and embroidery. Because
of photography agreements with the museums, Amie can show the pictures
for educational lectures, but the photos cannot be posted electronically
or distributed. So the only way to see them is to come to the meeting!
Amie has edited thousands of photos down to the 200 best pictures.
Handouts with information will be provided but no extant photos.

The meeting will be at the Loudoun County Public Library - Cascades
Branch located at 21030 Whitfield Place, Potomac Falls, VA 20165.

Please RSVP to troenwolf at hotmail dot com if you are able to make it.

Mesterinde Karen Larsdatter will talk about the process of writing
documentation for A&S entries. She will also discuss her new EZ Doc
form that she created to help beginners learn how to document their
entries. For those of you who do not know Karen, she is a black-belt
researcher and the genius behind www.larsdatter.com. If you want to learn about research and documentation, this class is a must-see.
Please RSVP to troenwolf at hotmail dot com if you are able to make it.
