[Moo] open house

Many years ago, before the InterWebz, finding the SCA required espionage skills of a MI5 level.
The SCA was called the 'Secret Club of America'.
One was drawn by the shadowy rumors to seek out the people whom "Looked like they would know how to contact the SCA."
We sometimes become so comfortable in our own knowledge that we forget to leave breadcrumbs for Gretel.
The SCA has never been very good at self promotion.
I, for 13 years, printed and distributed advertising business cards for each barony that I was playing in.
These brought in hundreds of members over the years.
Yet I seem to have been the Only one doing it.

I know that there are Facebook pages and groups for baronies, web sites as well, but they do require constant tending, like a garden, to bear fruit. Finding Gardeners is a constant search. Too few have the time, fewer have the skills, and only a handful can do the work for long out of fatigue and frustration.
To all of the Web Gardeners out there, Thank you !!
Perhaps some blatant Facebook Page advertising is in order.
Something that everyone, member or not, can see, eh ?!

Be seeing you !!!
Saru/Moonstag

Hello,

I don't know if this is a common situation, but I was unaware of the Open House.  The moo announcement came through for me at 3:15, when I was already at the movies with my husband. I have been in the Canton since January, and heard about 3 Open Houses, one after the fact, and two as they were in progress and I had made other plans. I do apologize if there is a calendar posted that I don't have; I just thought I would share my experience in case there are others like me who would be interested in attending these events but don't have the information in time to do so.

Maven, so sorry that happened. I'm sure that was frustrating. If there is continued interest, I am happy to host.

Regards,
Esa
