[Moo] open house

This open house was scheduled for the Canton of Abhainn Iarthair, out in Winchester.  Anyone is welcome to attend, and encouraged to do so, no matter where they live.  I know the canton has a yahoo calendar (if you want to join their yahoo group) and since they are a small group tend to do much on their Facebook page or email.  I would suggest that anyone interested in attending activities within the Barony you should join each of the Canton email lists and Facebook pages (if you do that sort of thing).

In general, an open house is a gathering of SCA people usually at a person's house.  Sometimes there is a theme (sewing day, cooking day, project day...) but usually it is for camaraderie and hanging out.

Feel free to speak up anytime you have a question or don't understand.  We were all new once. ;)

I'm sorry to hear of your experience.

I'm fairly new as well and didn't know about this until the email. And i too don't know.... what are open houses?  Who are they meant for?   Where is the secret calendar of gatherings that we are missing out on?
