Join us January 9th, 2015 for the first Stierbach Baronial A&S of the year! It will start at 11 AM EST in Warrenton, Virginia. Overview of 16th Century German ClothingDid you know that Sudentore's Defending the Gate is German-themed this year? To help you prepare, please join Lady Amie Sparrow and Herrin Genefe Wölfelin for an overview of 16th century men’s and women’s German clothing. They will cover everything from uncomplicated peasant clothing to the more intricate and fantastical Landsknecht soldiers and trossfrau to dressing like the burgher class. Topics will include dresses, hemds (blouses), aprons, jackets, pants, hosen, funny hats, hairstyles, bags and shoes.Genefe and Amie will bring their patterns to copy. Please bring a roll of Christmas paper or craft paper from Michael’s if you think you would like to copy a pattern or two. Markers are also a good idea, as is newspaper. At the end of class, kits will be available for a few simple projects such as the German school sack (which was also used by soldiers), reed wulsts to be used as the basis for a wulsthaub, and pleated (not smocked) German aprons. Prices TBD depending on the cost of materials.A potluck/Atlantian 12th Night Pity Party will follow the class so we can all socialize and ask any other questions. Feel free to bring other projects you're working on to share or ask questions about! The address: 5611 Jamisons Farm Dr. Warrenton, VA 20187Directions: Take your best route to Rt 29.
