[Moo] minors at Investiture, and other events

Now that the January Acorn is out, I wanted to take a moment to remind
everyone of one important change to Kingdom Law found in that issue,
which could affect your attendance at Stierbach's Investiture on
January 24 and any other event in the Kingdom. This law change went
into effect with its publication, and I will expect the folks working
Troll at Investiture to follow the law.

Section 10.3.2, on the attendance of minors at events, was revised at
Their Majesties' Curia. "Minors" includes everyone under the age of
18. Minors are not permitted to enter or remain at an event without an
adult on site who is responsible for them. That adult must be the
parent/guardian or have a signed AND NOTARIZED medical authorization
form from the parent/guardian, in addition to a signed site waiver
form. The site waiver will be turned in at Troll; the medical
authorization should be shown to the folks working Troll and then
retained by the responsible adult. (Personally, I'd recommend having a
copy for both the minor and the adult in case they're separated, but
that's my own opinion and not an official statement from the SCA.)

You can get a copy of the minor medical authorization with notary text
at http://mol.atlantia.sca.org/Forms/MinorMedicalWaiver2.pdf. Notaries
are available at many banks, town halls, and commercial mailing
locations. This should all be done before the day of the event.

Please spread the word to anyone who may be bringing or sending a minor
to an event without his/her parent. I do not want to have to remove a
minor from Investiture because of a paperwork problem, and I'm sure no
other autocrat wants to do it at their events, so let's avoid the
problem in the first place, please!

If you have any questions, please let me know.

In service,
Cecily, co-autocrat and Curia note-taker
