Greetings,

We have had a demo request from a Cub Scout pack in Lake Ridge (the northern
part of Woodbridge).

The details are below. Please reply if you want to do heraldry stuff on
Tuesday, Sept. 28 or general stuff on November 16th. Please reply by
Wednesday, if possible, particularly for the heraldry stuff.

Also, please speak up if anyone wants to coordinate this. (Tuesday night is
Girl Scout night in our house.)

Many thanks,
Ceridwen

Stierbach Officers,

16NOV04
I am the Cubmaster of Cubscout Pack 1369. On Tuesday, 16 November
2004, at 7:30 PM we plan on having a Pack meeting with the theme "Knights of
the Roundtable". I am writing to ask if you have representatives who would
be interested in adding some education and / or entertainment to our
meeting. We are an active Pack and typically have more than 100 people at
our meetings (50-60 boys). We are located in Lakeridge VA, not far from the
Potomac Mills mall (If there is a closer Barony, please let me know).

I have some ideas on what would interest first through fifth grade boys,
but I would defer to your judgment on that matter. Since we meet at an
Elementary school (Springwoods Elementary) we cannot use any weapons but
from what I have heard, your group sometimes practices combat with some type
of wooden sticks.

In preparation for the November meeting, I would like to introduce the
boys to the idea of heraldry at our meeting Tuesday, 28 September 2004 at
7:30 PM (also held at Springwoods Elementary in Lakeridge). My intent is to
teach them about the use of symbolism to represent their family and its
interests and have them create their own crest or coat of arms to adorn the
hall at the November meeting. If your Herald is willing to assist by
educating them on this topic (about 10 - 15 minutes worth), that would be
greatly appreciated as well.

Thanks for any assistance that you can offer.

Mark Murphy
