Is there ANYONE out there that is willing to take on the task of curving my
shield?

Milady,

You may wish to check with local mundane merchants who specialize in metal
fabrication, as they often have the roller used to put a curve in sheet metal.
There may be a SCAdian in the area who owns one, but they actually have a
fairly limited utility in SCA armory and aren't common. A professional
fabricator will charge you, but probably not a lot. Explain to him/her just what
you're hoping to end up with, so they don't inadvertantly roll it the wrong
way ;-) The curve doesn't need to be very deep.

Second, and see if they can do this for you as well, the edge of the shield
should be rolled, just a couple millimeters-worth. This not only helps the
shield hold its curve (in the same way the wire in some hat-brims works), but
also blunts the knifelike raw edge of the blank. Again, explain the project
fully to the fabricator, so they know what the end-product should look like.

Just my four ha'pennies,

Gerhardt
