[Moo] Royal Court Report: Last Court of Logan and Esa, 29 Aug 2009

Unto Their Majesties Vladimir and Kalisa, the Triton Principal Herald, the Atlantian College of Heralds, the populace of Atlantia, and all who read these presents:

Greetings from Evan da Collaureo, Sackbut Herald, on this the second day of September.

On the twenty-second day after the Closing Ceremonies of Pennsic XXXVIII (that is to say, the twenty-ninth day of August), Anno Societatis XLIV, in the Barony of Stierbach, a grand event was held to celebrate Stierbach's Baronial Birthday and the Coronation of Vladimir and Kalisa as the new Crown of Atlantia. But before that Coronation would occur, Their Majesties Logan and Esa did hold the Last Royal Court of Their reign.

Their Majesties processed into Court and greeted the populace.

Esperanza Susanna Flecha was then summoned into the Royal presence. Her skill at archery and contributions to the archery community were discussed, and the Order of the Yew Bow was summoned to gather around. Lord Allen of Wolfhou presented his lady Blitha's legacy medallion to be given to Esperanza, who was duly inducted into the Order to joyful acclamation. Lady Esperanza was also presented with an unusual scroll by Sunniva Kyrre. What was unusual about it was that the scroll text was inscribed (fittingly enough) on the shaft of an arrow.

Their Majesties then requested the presence of Mungo Napier and Sara Sinclair Napier. These gentles being unavailable, they were given Awards of Arms in absentia. Baroness Thjora came up to receive their scrolls with the charge that she deliver them; I am informed that the delivery took place the following day.

William de Mont d'Or was invited before the thrones, where Their Majesties did bestow upon him an Award of Arms as well. (Scroll by Rhonwen verch Tuder.)

Her Majesty then called for Mistress Isobel Bedingfield, and did induct her into the Queen's Order of Courtesy.

In keeping with the courtesy theme, Their Majesties then summoned Rakel Kyrre before Them, and made her the newest member of the Order of Arielle. (Scroll by Rhonwen verch Tuder.)

The presence of Willa Faye Dunne was then required, in order that Their Majesties could create her a Baroness of Their Court, with a Grant of Arms as well. (Scroll calligraphed by Philip ap Mereduth and illuminated by Brighid inghean Ioain.)

Esa then came forward, and addressed the populace to thank all those gentles who helped Her with sewing and other projects during the reign. Her Majesty proceeded to announce that Al Altan, Bessenyei Rozsa, Kari Kyst, and Maddalena Rondinelli were receiving Undines for their great efforts to aid Her in the past year. In addition, Lady Maddalena was awarded a Silver Nautilus for the excellence of her particular contributions. (Scrolls by Sunniva Kyrre and the Black Diamond Scriptorium.)

Margarita de Siena, Katarzyna Witkowska, Ka{dh}l{i'}n in {o'}arga, and Marion le Red were all summoned before Their Majesties, each to receive an Undine from Her Majesty. (Scrolls by Sunniva Kyrre and the Black Diamond Scriptorium.)

Ilaria de Gandia was then invited into the Royal presence, but she was not in Court at the time. She was awarded an Undine in absentia. (Stained-glass type scroll by the Black Diamond Scriptorium.)

Alesia Gillefalyn was also called forth but was not present. She too was given an Undine in absentia. (Scroll by Sunniva Kyrre.)

Aedan Aylwyn was then noticed in the audience and summoned to likewise receive an Undine, but not in absentia.

Their Majesties then called for Gracia Esperan{c,}a de Sevilla and Adriana la Bretonne. These two Excellent gentles were proclaimed to have achieved their Authorization in Parasol and presented certificates to that effect by Her Majesty. They were also given Undines. (Gracia's scroll by Eva Brangweyn; Adriana's by the Black Diamond Scriptorium.)

The presence of Fiona MacLeod was then required. Andreas de Caunteton escorted her in, and was detained himself by Their Majesties, that Her Majsety might present him with a gift commemmorating a situation from Pennsic (?) involving the phrase "Bounce On".

Andreas then retired, and Fiona was given both an Undine and a King's Award of Excellence.

The Royal Champions were called before the thrones. (This included the aforementioned Lady Ilaria who had just arrived at Court.) The Champions were thanked by Their Majesties, and dismissed. Their Majesties then made their final remarks, including expressions of gratitude to many who had helped each of Them with different aspects of the reign.

Duke Cuan mac Daige was then invited to step forth and receive the Sword of State and the Crowns of Atlantia, to guard them until the arrival of the Heirs to the Throne. This being accomplished, Logan and Esa stepped down from the Throne and their Last Court was closed.

This account is accurate to the best of my knowledge and complete to the extent of the information available to me. My efforts to assist Their Majesties with Royal Court were greatly aided by Ladies Glynis Gwynedd and Sian verch Gwilim ap Lewelin, who seconded court, and by Mistress Sunniva who handled the scrolls prior to Court. Sunniva and the Black Diamond Scriptorium also provided many scrolls not specifically mentioned in this report.
