[Moo] Gift Basket for Their Royal Majesties

Thank you for the first-hand knowledge!

So the next time you're King (or if your lovely Wife makes you Consort????)
I can make you a rather hideously large stuffed red and white Steer, and
give it to you personally to force you to keep it forever???  This sounds
like another episode of 'Fun with the Royals'!

But seriously, in your opinion, if I were to have a donation, and I didn't
already KNOW that they would want it as a personal gift, would it be best
to just give it as largesse?  Or would it be better to offer it as a
personal gift if they like it, and feel free to use as largesse if they
dont have a need?  Are there rules or traditions about this?  Before I pour
my heart into something and then get accidently offended that someone
didn't use it as I hoped, is it best to include a note saying, "Gift from
Heather the Awesome, you're welcome to keep personally if you have need, or
please share with the populace as you see fit." or "Gift from Heather the
Magnificent, to you, personally, please never give this away and make sure
to sleep with it under your pillow!"

It seems like everything has a nuance, which makes sense since we're
recreating a complicated society, and the last thing I want to do is create
unintended confusion.
